What about strongman pulled you in and kept you here?

I have a deep love for powerlifting, but what has kept me from going back into a powerlifting prep is how much strongman tests you as an athlete. Anyone can squat, bench, and deadlift, but in strongman, although you see a repeat of events, each comp has a variation or different combination. I haven't been competing in strongman very long, but there are still events I have yet to experience.

"I want to be the voice and image for athletes who are becoming mothers. As a competitive athlete and new mom, it can be a bit lonely on this side of things. I want people to know not to count me out just because I'm a mom now. I'm coming back."

How do you think the sport of strongman could be improved? Does it even need to be?

I think the size of arenas that the big strongman shows are held in needs to be scaled down. The bright lights and center stage are cool, but the near-empty arena and the cost of entry fees and spectator fees take away from the athletes. Smaller venues, lower fees, more spectators, more athletes.

What inspires you?

I was just getting started and was already climbing my way to the top. I'm recently postpartum and now have my beautiful little boy, which has just lit a bigger fire in me. My little family and the potential to be the best is what inspires me to keep going.

Why do you want to be on this team?

I want to be the voice and image for athletes who are also becoming mothers. As a competitive athlete and new mom, it can be a bit lonely on this side of things. We can feel forgotten, or people expect us to not be as good as we once were. I want to show women that we can defy those odds — be a great mom and a great athlete.

How does Odd Objects improve the sport of strongman?

Tommy does a good job of being inclusive. He has athletes from all types of backgrounds and goes out of his way to showcase those athletes, allowing others to relate to them. It's just such an authentic and genuine brand.

What's your favorite Odd Objects product?

My favorite product is the Odd Objects leggings. They are flattering on both men and women and contour to your body.
